Sheet Metal Contractors, Inc. was founded in 1980 by Lawrence P. “Larry” Krodinger, Sr., whose vision was to build a company rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and hard work. After years in the mechanical and heating industry, Larry took a leap of faith to start his own union heating and air conditioning business. What began with just four employees has grown into a trusted, full-service mechanical contractor with more than sixty full-time team members serving commercial and residential clients across the region.  What started as one man’s dream has become a multi-generational commitment to excellence. Larry’s daughter, son, and grandson continue to build upon his foundation — honoring the legacy he started while driving SMCI toward a future of innovation and growth. At SMCI, our past is our foundation and our future is our focus — a company truly “Legacy Built, Future Focused.
